Surviving Minnesota!

Story time . I stuck a 3 point buck last night . Legal here . Lost the blood trail in the poor light . Doubted my shot placement . So backed off until morning . Found him . Yotes ate a hind leg . Shot was good . Double lung . Most do not go far . This one went about 250 yards . Most drop within 50 yards . First kill since 2011 . So I was due . We had blue tongue in 2012 and 2013 so numbers were down for awhile . Grandson will spend the weekend here hunting . deer is cut up and on ice . Rabbit season starts tomorrow but too busy this weekend .

Jerry.. Nice job.

I went to the Dr today....Speaking of strange things..

The other night I started getting vertigo. It was not all the time but enough to be disturbing.

Enough so that Judy took my blood pressure and O2 stats to see if I might have been having a stroke.

I told the Doc about the vertigo and he looked in my ears.

He says " Do you have a dog?"

I said "yes".

He said " Is it black"

I said "yes"

He said " is it a lab?"

Again I said, "Yes".

He said I have only seen this about a dozen times in 30 years, but you have a black lab hair pushing against your ear drum. He said it is always a black lab and the pushing on the ear drum cause vertigo.

I was in shock. He said he could rinse it out or we could buy a baby bulb and rinse it out, The bulb would be cheaper than him doing it.

He let Judy look in the ear at the hair, she laughed and said you can see it lying right on the ear drum.

BTW we went the cheaper way an bought the bulb.

afternoon all! its my friday off work and ive been working around the farm. pretty much all ready for hunt tomorrow. was out walking the dogs in an area i dont usually go since i cant walk our back path where the deer will be and found another frequent deer trail along my tree line in the front. not sure where they head from or to over there. Seems there is plenty of deer traffic around.

Butchered and skinned one of my extra roosters. skinning is way harder than i though. this roo had the thickest feathers! CXs are much easier to handle

We sat on a hill and watched some deer mill around in the brush. I think my friend Matthew got a deer, I saw his pickup and heard shots on his families land.
On the way back I saw a nice 4x4 mulie buck!! To bad I only have a doe tag...
Heading off to a hunting party/meal now.

Morning . Had venison Medallion steaks (backstrap) with mushrooms and onion last night . Roof sheets are all up . Trim and clean up left . Need to process meat today . Mushrooms to can . Busy busy .

Good morning peeples!
