If it runs, it is likely worth a lot more than that! You can run a hatching tray in the bottom of it, but it is best to hatch separate with higher humidity in another unit.
I've not really had any trouble with single comb hens. But yes the Roosters would be a pain for frost bite. The RIRs are laying machines. But my RIR did run into egg yolk peritonitis. Which is think is common for them or hatchery versions of them.

My first year I had trouble with hens and roosters and now none of my birds get frost bite and I have a door window open all winter.... Frost bite is confusing....
When it's done I like a bit more salt added to my bowl. But boy it smells so good in the house and its very wholesome and lots of healthy stuff going on.
That looks so good . Do you grow squash ? If so you should really try the Golden Delicious squash / pumpkin . That is the one Festal grew . Really the best I ever tasted .
I will share some Mike Gilbert gave me 2 squash . He got them from Don Cable years ago . Lost or forgot the name . Recent Festal pumpkin discussion put me onto what I have . I will plant mostly these next year . Dickinson is good Cushaw is better and Golden Delicious is the best . No wonder Festal had such huge fans . I see that the Festal had a shelf life of three years . So the ones being sold are the remaining stock . So better grow your own . There is one seller on eBay selling Golden Delicious seed .
