Surviving Minnesota!

You sound like my DH. Only eats if I make him lunch. I ask if he needs a lunch and answers if you want me to eat.

In the summer I only eat if something is made for me

Or I forget about lunch. My dad usually makes bacon every morning, when he doesn't I usually don't eat

I have done a rant again....I am bad... Well,, not that bad.

I just get a kick out of people that say a bird cannot be an Easter Egger.   Jerry, correct me if I am wrong, please.

An Easter Egger has no common trait other than laying a colored egg (Green, olive or blue) correct?

I know lots think they have either tufts or  muffs black or green legs but those are not required are they?

There is no SOP for an EE.  I just get on a high horse when people go nuts and "declare that is no EE"

Here is my rant"  https://www.backyardchickens.com/t/436863/oh-craigslist-you-amuse-me-so/7100#post_17809178

Now the rant is truly over as I prepare for another day of chicken wrangling.

I tried to take cool pictures of my PC rooster yesterday like Jerry takes. I failed. Badly. I wanted to get their colors and shapes captured. I got shadows and ugly looking birds. Way uglier than they are... Holm bring a camera when you show up here for your turkeys.  ( along with my cats).  Speaking of cats, Judy is making me build a little covered bed so they do not get cold....Geesh they are barn cats... Someone talk sense to her.....

Ralphie I don't even listen to that person on BYC anymore. I just ignore there comments.

I will make sure to bring the camera and cats lol. Do you want two older cats or two younger ones who are just about ready to be weaned? My only fear with the older ones is that they might run away if they aren't locked up for a few weeks they might run away?

Evening all! Been a busy day. Just got back from looking a plow truck for the farm but didn't buy. Truck was a total pile of crap. There was no coolant in the radiator. I asked why. He says 'oh yeah it had a leak and I just fill it up with water. It froze up last winter" that was when I walked away. The guy was an obvious meth user with sores and rotted teeth. Seemed nice enough but sketchy none the less.

Younger is fine. As long as they do not rip my fingers off if I try to touch them.

I found a small electric wood chipper on craigslist today. It said it too up to 1 3/4 inch branches so I knew it was small.

It was $60, I thought I would get it and try to crack corn with it. I was amazed what a good job it does and how fast it does it. I can do a bushel in less than 2 minutes. At the price of cracked corn in the mill, versus what I paid a farmer for a wagon load. I am saving so much money, I might be able to afford a Mikes in a week or two!

@holm25
I forgot to ask you, but where/who are you getting your Cochins from? Also what colors?

She is a friend of mine and use to be on BYC. She no longer breeds them. They are blacks. They are originally from Urch I think...

Her BYC user is [@]Triplell[/

ETA I think they are from Urch. But I would have to ask her...

We have two really cute ones who won't rip your hands off. Do you want me to bring some kitty food with them? I could bring a small bag? They will need some to keep growing good as they have growing to do still. We feed the cats cat food here so they don't leave once there aren't many mice and chipmunks to eat. And if they are young they will bond to you!

I think my grandpa had one of these in his shed. Or it's my great aunt and uncle's. They use it to make wood shavings (like the ones you buy for bedding) for their garden.
