Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie I candles last night and am having good luck with fertility all 6 eggs started and one ended up with a detached air cell?? Anyways I am setting eggs tonight or tomorrow morning. Depends on what my plans are for tonight.

So cold out today I can't even let my horses outside. Bad idea to keep a desert breed of horses in Minnesota. Time to build those indoor pens downstairs in case I have to bring chickens indoors. Luckily all my chicks already live indoors until 8 weeks old and hopefully by then MN will warm up (LOL what backwards universe do i think I live in).

What breed do you have? Is he/she clipped. My family has owned Arabians before and as long they aren't clipped and have some shelter their fine.

hopefully I get a good grade on this...

I have Arabians but two are old and don't grow in very thick winter coats anymore so they have to wear blankets all winter long.

Are your Arabians really hot blooded? I have heard alot of them are? I dont have alot of experience with horses but we did have one... I think of horses like Ralphie does ducks lol!

I have Egyptian Arabian's mostly but our old halter horses we bred are hot blooded. Out huntseat mare who is Egyptian is very calm, quiet, and super smart. I think a lot of people mistake 'hot headed and wild' for highly intelligent. An Arab will outsmart you. You have to be ahead of them or they will take advantage. They are also built for endurance. I have Bask, Fame VF, and Padrone Psyche bloodlines in my halter horses. They can be high energy but great horses. I also have saddelbreds and my NSH who is out of a Fame VF mare and by Color of Fame. She's virtually a perfect animal in every way. My Saddelbred is by I'm A New Yorker. Have a new filly I am looking at by Nutcracker. I also have 2 mini's xD

Yesterday and today I found a new pullet egg in the nest box, it is a true olive and it's beautiful. tomorrow I'll get a picture.

Some are some aren't. Personally I don't like them for ranch horses they go after a cow but just run past them is my grandpa's description. They make really good pleasure and trail horses though

We lost tonight to our rival. Overtime 51-50. I didn't get to see Collin Logan or Nathan after the game because we have to go pick my mom from the airport.

Our JH football coach got coach of the year!
