Surviving Minnesota!

At this point it might appear that way. However, the rules committee is checking on your status and entertaining a rules change that could, unfortunately, have you disqualified.

It's going to hit 40 degrees today supposedly. I'll probably be out scraping starling crap off everything again. I still haven't found a way to get rid of them. Those tapes that play distress calls or whatever only work for 5 minutes or so before they are right back in. Trapping them only gets a handful and they invite more friends.

Incubator has been humming and my brooder room in basement is starting to fill up. I'm getting to the point where I may have to haul in plywood from shed and set up my garage brooders again. I've had people asking for chicks already but I'm being a scrooge this year. Raising just for myself and culls from baby pens sold at swaps if anything. Still debating if I want to keep my breeder pens of faverolles and polish....

Agree on all points ralphie. So I should probably say yes but there's a lot of buts in mine too. Right now I have just one hen approaching 5 years old. I think she'll make it. But longevity is rare I can see and really a big show stud rooster that kicks out the most beautiful chicks ever might get special considerations for too much calcium.

Good morning. I'm a sleepy head in bed yet. Birds aren't off the roost yet anyways.

I love the warmer temps but the snow melt running across slopey parts of the highway make for mini ice rinks. Slippery spots last night picking up kiddos.
