Whew...the whole rabies thing is scary. That cow of Holms is concerning. If you go through the series of shots, does that protect you for life?

I as told, way back in 67, by the doctor, the rabies virus the bat injected into me would give me immunity for life.

However, what I have read since then puts this into some doubt. If a person can get chicken pox or measles twice or the antibodies for other viruses wane over time, there is no reason in my mind to think rabies would be an exception..... If I get bit I am taking the shots again....

Currently waiting on these two to start laying. They are probably 17 weeks now so it'll be 3-4 more weeks I think. And look they have Pea combs!

Lets put a definition on Grandma advice. REGARD GRANDMA ADVICE AS A COMMAND. A MUST DO. WISDOM SPEAKING AND THERE ARE HUGE RESULTS THAT A PERSON WILL LOOK BACK ON AND HAVE A 'SHAKE THE HEAD' MOMENT THAT THEY DID NOT FOLLOW THE GRANDMA ADVICE. That 'shake the head' moment could have been avoided. Grandmas have no motivation to give advise unless it is truly, truly for a grandchilds benefit and it is pure love that motivates the words of a grandparent.

Dogs get vaccinated for rabies, why don't humans? Is there a vaccine for us or is it just not feasible? Too expensive? Not as much chance of exposure? People should be smart enough to stay away from animals that act differently?

I can not command anyone to do or not do anything, what might sound like a command is a suggestion for ones own good. Most people don't like to take advise they prefer to screw up and blame someone else.
