Layers hope your dog and chickens are healthy today.

Jerry - we used to have a pear tree in central mn. It came with the house but the storm of 2010 took it down. It was a full sized tree but didn't produce very well.

I have Hudar and Savinac grafted last year on a tree . Enough wood to graft onto rootstocks this year . These are hardy to zone 3 and 2 .

Hi all.

I have been busy, I had to get ready for the next few chilly days.

I have eggs hatching and eggs to go into the incubator and then I had some invoices to send out this morning, plus trying to keep straight which eggs/chicks are going where.

I wanted to make a special brooder yesterday, but ran out of time, for the PC and a few doms. I have them in a group of 50ish chicks and am afraid if one gets trampled it will be them. Hopefully, I can get them moved today, so they can go into a basic cuddling class.

I got the scions cut yesterday Jerry. I was wrong on the age of the tree. My friend says he thinks it was planted around 1950. Still and old tree. It was hard to find any good buds on it some much is just dead wood. I wanted to make sure I got it high enough up I was not getting things from the root stock.

I have 26 dozen eggs going into the incubator today. A new record for me. It might be a lower number once I candle and throw out the bad ones.


Judy lined me up with a dentist today, because she hates me. So I have to get ready to go.


BTW I hate going to the dentist, ever since my Mom took me to a former SS Nazi torturer for a dentist when I was a kid.

Good morning Chickeners . . . .

ME TOO Ralphie! That ole army dentist would put that drill (remember the drill with the pulley [?] that would go around and around?) in my mouth and I would hurt so bad. No novocaine - I don't think he believed in it. Dr Burns. I will never forget Dr. Burns. My sister never hurt when he drilled her teeth. One of my friends family went to him also. I was shocked when she told me he died and she laughed about it. She was brought up with a different sense of humor than me. She labeled him mean. Different point of view.

BUT what I really wanted to say that I love the color green that is like apple green. LOVE it. And I LOVE penciled hens!!!. Just saw a silver-laced Wyandotte picture. And then a gold-laced Wyandotte. I do not want, and will never have (opps - I said that word - n e v e r ) have 50 birds. I just want ten really really remarkable hens and one roo.

Someday.

I have an excellent dentist. She's such a bubble of energy you forget you are at the dentist. the kids LOVE her. The dentist I had before was a super nice guy...but the crown he put on for me hurt for months after. DH had troubles after some work as well. So we just decided not to go back. Ralphie, I'm sorry for your dreaded appointment. At least you have teeth, right?

My Dad is losing all of his. He looks bad. Last time I saw him...I told him to go get them fixed.

Layers get out that camera when the cochins and chicks arrive. I want to see photos of your newbs.

Still thrilled about my Nustock results.

Cochins are between here and Fargo right now. I will be sure to take pictures of them and the chicks right away.

Not sure what's up with the dog. They are taking her to the vet today. I think she popped her hip out or pulled a muscle.

I've seen dogs with pulled or tore tendons. That can happen, actually more than one would think. Couple dogs I've seen with that. Not my own but with my co-workers dogs.

I moved some blackberry starts today . Triple Crown thornless . They tip root so free plants . Gotta love that . 3 chicks out already . Not due till tomorrow . 2 SS mixes with rose combs . Starting to sprinkle outside . Warm weather party is ending .

They freaked out at the UPS store. It is coming in my Chipmunk control device box...

The first thing the guy in the store said, " you can't bring a gun in here, we don't ship them from private citizens".


It is coming Spee dee and not UPS.





BC. I have a woman dentist now too she has a very gentle touch. I still have tremors when I sit in the chair though.


Ivie I sit down in the chair and look at the drills and I still expect to hear and see that huge green machine with pulleys and cables that shook the chair to be there. The guy we went to always said, "oh I will be done drilling before the Novocain takes effect so no sense getting the shot, that's the worst part".


I am sure he said the same thing to the holocaust prisoners before he cut their liver, spleen or whatever else out too.

Birds weren't at post. I do get a refund though since they weren't here before 3. I hope they all make it though
