Surviving Minnesota!

Well it seems egg season is softening the young cockerel. He "Chook-chooked" a fried tater to the hens this morning. He offered it to two gals. No takers. But they'll learn too. I think he used to peck them before so now maybe they're like, "Yeah, right, buddy."

Holm - I know I already gave you kudo's for rescuing a dog. PLEASE keep updating us with the stories. We are here at the beginning of her new family life and at least I, as I cannot write for everyone, want Foxy stories. Is she an outdoor dog or does she get to do both?

ILL - how are you surviving out there on the plaines of ND? The wind has not carried you away has it?

I would like to include each of you with a reply to what is happening in your lives that you post on here. Not happening. Sorry.

Each of you are important - just not enough time. Where has Mordecai been? She disappeared. Coffee? I saw her on the turkey thread a week ago. Klops?

Avian flu? Heard anything new anyone? We have lottsa geese around here. and ducks migrating through. They like the river. Maybe the Eagles will keep them moving along.

Ivie She is an inside dog mostly. Well now she is... She has never had a home that they know of... She was thin when she came to the shelter 2 weeks ago. She was picked up on a dog run in South Dakota. She was scared to death of humans when she came and wouldn't let anybody get close to her. Now 2 weeks later she is here in her new home with toys, brushes and multiple beds and a couch to sleep on. The only way we were going to get another dog was if we adopted. Too many dogs that need homes.. They have dogs from Texas at this shelter even so you know they are filling up any kennel they can.

At least he is starting to use his manners!

Yeah Ralphie, I was looking for something they would eat more than their current food. Mine don't like pellets, only crumbles/cracked grains. They really like the cracked grain I got last summer, but it is a long hall to Hamburge, So I was looking for something closer...anywhoo, I now need game bird or feather fixer cause of this mess! That will learn me.

Cluckies I wonder why they are picking? Lack of protein? I guess I have never had that issue before so don't have much advice... Best of luck getting them to stop!
