Surviving Minnesota!

I just candled the eggs. A day or so early but I don't do waiting well. It looks like I have 6 Toads out of 13 that were set. And 7 out of 12 Doms that were set. It is so hard to see in the blue eggs from Holms and even harder to see in that Olive egg so I have not a clue on those 3. But I will candle again later next week and see what is going on then.

what is wrong with Georgia?

She's a really tiny bantam pullet, not even laying yet... Super skinny too from recent cocci.... She lost her toes to frostbite this past winter, so I've been bringing her in whenever it goes below 0°F. I didn't bring her sister in and she got severe foot frostbite, nearly killing her. So I'm being paranoid with Georgia.

They'd have been fine, but their feathering isn't enough to cover their feet.

Oh no, I think I'd put on my coat and go get her if it was me... Did they lose their toes from sitting on the side of the water dish and their toes dipping in?  I had to raise up my open water covered dish cause Fi likes to stand on the edge.

I believe she lost her toes on a -40°F night, I've just been hyper paranoid... Probably okay, just the bit of concerned momma hen in me.

She roosts 8 ft up in the air, right where I can't get her w/o a ladder. :barnie

If you have 6 toads that is excellent. But the Doms are low, I have been doing 10 for 12 in them lately.

Really close game so far I think at half right now it was 28- 27 , my relative got knocked in the jaw really hard once, and almost dunked it but decided not to at the last second. Hopefully they can win this

A couple are hard to see through. It seems a thicker shell most likely. I don't have an actual candler. I just hold the egg and wrap my fingers around an LED light. I am going to use my phone light which really does a good job as it is so bright when I check them next. I am still wondering about the 4 hour temp drop and how that affected them. So I will give them more time and see what happens.
