Surviving Minnesota!

Wish me luck as I sit through an entire school day of study hall. I am subbing for the high school math teacher today. He told the students it was study hall all day. Mid quarter is Monday or Tuesday next week. He is allowing them time to get in missing work from all their classes. It should not be as bad as it sounds as I need the study hall myself to get caught up on all my Graduate school work. I forgot how much I don't like being in school. Hahaha Totally wrong profession maybe.... I do love the kids though. Even the big ones.

I have another post to write from my phone as the picture is on there and I can't easily get it on my iPad. Well maybe let me see. Nope I can't. Anyway, I have no clue how this hen ended up in the predicament she was found in, I have no clue how long she was there although I do not believe it was long and she was totally calm and didn't move at all while I helped her out. I had to move the dog house as there was no way to move her back or forth even once I got her wing tucked back in. Again HOW DID SHE GET THERE?

Good Morning Chickeners . . . . I feel good! Da da da da da da nah! Okay - Obviously this coop needs spring cleaning and staining and some more work. Here is the thing. Many of the chickens have learned from the stinker chickens who were smart enough to figure out that IF they jumped up on the nesting box behind that little hen house, then it is just a short jump to the top of the hen house and then to the covered roof on the run. From there they can drop down to freedom and are able to free range as long as they want. Then somehow, when they are ready to return - they do. I have a remedy for this behavior that they do not know about yet and will be incorporating that remedy, hopefully, today. No one can tell me that chickens are not problem solvers.

Good morning to all. The Mn. Banana Belt weather has moved N. the sun is shining and it is warm. I have already made a 124 mile road trip this morning, and now I am going to do some outdoor projects. Ralphie, there is no time for chicken hugging today. You must get out there and accomplish things over the next two days. After that it is going to be raining for several days.

Jerry, is into weather that would be considered summer here.

Oh happy day! The fox is gone! For last 2 weeks we have had sly one, he walks across yard when the gun is locked up in basement. Last night, was his last trot. WH(wonderful husband) brought the gun to the chicken coop to have ready just in case. As we walked to the house I was told to freeze. Boom done.
