Surviving Minnesota!

Probably not as smooth as The used car salesman I ran into yesterday....
But I digress.

Banty.....They are REALLY REALLY nice. Come for a visit! We are nice here in the spring and summer. No snow now....
Why would I want to go down to your place in summer?? It's hot enough here... Ain't going an inch south.

Spring might be nice though.

Don't s'pose you've got any hens for sale too?

:hmm Okay Ralphie!

:p
I have one loyal egg customer. She wants 2- 3 dozen eggs about every week. She got two today. I have to drum up another dozen this weekend. The 5 layers I have are giving 27-28 eggs a week. Pretty good. But I sense they might start waning here. Summer break is nigh.

She sends love notes to my chickens in the empty cartons she gets back to me.
:love
I've been getting about 50 eggs per week from my 10ish layer hens. Pretty decent.

I figure in about a month I will have 80 broody hens with chicks the way they are hiding eggs.

I have not gotten an appletini egg in a week,,, one of them must be laying somewhere..

I want to get down in numbers maybe them all sitting outside on a nest is a way.

I went morel hunting last weekend and found about a dozen myself, the others found a couple more than that each. Some were dry, and not very big. We went back to the house and cooked and ate them. Too tasty for words.
One of the friends went back out a couple days ago and she found much bigger, better shrooms after the rain.

morning all :frow

Gonna get some dirt for the greenhouse today!!!:ya I NEED to get these plants in the ground!!! And..... I thought all my asparagus plants had died (I had 6) but I found 3 with little shoots coming out of the ground...WOOHOO!!

Hope the rain holds off long enough to get the dirt into the greenhouse.

Ralphie, the Appeltini's which I got from you have been laying each day, but they are not free ranging so easy to find their eggs.
I think that you have jinxed me with all this talk about broodies. For the first time I have a PC hen which has gone broody. Now that the rooster is here I may just let her hatch a clutch.
