I am still disliking Craigslist people.....

I had a person contact me wanting a different cockerel because of the 8 birds they got from me back in Mar, 7 were girls and the boy had a crooked leg. I do not have any SS. You all know my SS problems this year.

They got the birds for their Kids 4h... i hate to see kids take a mediocre bird to a fair. I told her I had some pretty decent DOM's that should win the fair or do well. They are pusking 16-18 weeks and have nice U shapes to them good combs and bright red ones. The feet and legs are good.

I told them I would sell the 3 new birds (DOMs) if they wanted to switch breeds, a cockerel and 2 pullets..

She asked what I wanted and I said because it was for kids for 4h, I would let her have the three for $25. The ones I had in mind would have won a smaller fair and maybe even the state show this fall........


The next thing out of her mouth was, "Can you do $20?"

Why? It takes all the "doing good feelings from me". Now I am thinking mediocre birds is what they will get and not winners. I hate to feel petty, but it just rubs me wrong when show birds this time of year would bring double that.......

It is not like I don't give lots of free birds to kids and people. I must be grouchy from surgery still to have this bothering me.

I can sell them to the Nice Asian lady for 10 apiece for her pot, I know I have more than the $25 in feed alone....

Yep, I am a cantankerous old grouch...

Its so cool to see how much people have come together because of this fire. So far it's around 5400 acres and only 15% under control

I can't believe they even tried to haggle at that price. That was dirt cheap.....and I am a 4H parent. Hopefully, they don't come back to expect it again next year.
