Surviving Minnesota!

I have been debating telling any of you this. I told Ivie yesterday at the "meeting".

I have been tossing around the idea of running for the Minnesota House of Representatives. I am 90% sure I will be running. I did "semi-announce" the other night at the NRA dinner.

I am not saying this for any political reason, I just do not want you guys to be taken by surprise, as I consider you my friends.
There are a few reasons I would not run, mainly what my Doctor says. After the mishap this summer with surgery, which I did discuss at the meeting yesterday, I want to make sure I will be here in 5 years. At this point I cannot be sure.

I would only run for two terms. As I would be 70 at the end of the second term. There is one other person running a party insider, so it is a steep hill. I have not officially filed and with the Election Commission and will not for 8-10 weeks most likely, but I am doing the pre-steps needed...

Anyways.. now you know, when i decide if I am for sure or not, I will let you know..

I would prefer that you run for the U S Senate for Minnesota. I think you would be a good choice for either, but politics is a dirty business. Are you sure you wish to be subjected to it. I just had my septic tank pumped and the man had an adage painted on his truck. "This tank is full of Politicians Promises."

Amazing you should mention that, my wife and I discussed that very subject all the way home. She thinks I would be good at the job, her concern is do I have the personality to put up with and play the political game my opposition would play.

That is one of the things I am weighing now. I do not make empty promises and will not make one I cannot keep... Sort of like when I sell birds I do my best to give people what I say I ...That said some little buggers do lie to me occasionally as to what they are..LOL

Just don't let your health suffer. . it would be a lot of stress I would imagine. Stress is hard on the body.

Thanks.. BUT all good deeds take a little toll on a person, there are so many thing that need changing up here.

My toad pen/run is in peace this morning. After removing the new OJ I have peace everywhere. No fighting all the roosters seem to be getting along. The old OJ now Bert was in the coop. He has not been allowed in the coop since I moved them to this run and let him out of prison.

Life is good and it's a good day to be a toad in Toadsville!
