Surviving Minnesota!

These are the temps on the top rack. Hard to complain about these temps;)

It is runninng great! It's sitting at 100 degrees right now. I have it set at 100 and when it hits 99 it heats up again. Thanks again for all the help! I can't believe how quick this things heats up!

We have it set exactly the same. Move your thermostat probe around you will get some minor fluctuations. We have drapped the probe in the middle rack and found the incubator runs much more consistant. (for the first 24 hours I may have had the probe laying right in front of the heat coil.....looked like a nice spot out of the way. :barnie

Corey really likes Jerry's idea of putting the probe in a ceramic egg....so I ordered some ceramic eggs, they should arrive this week.

I have the probe even with the bottom rack and a digital thermometer in the top rack and they both read the same:). I went and taped the probe wire down the wall... I will get a pic.

How come you put the probe in a ceramic egg?

Buckeyes fall under that category. Chanteclers are so clearly superior, I can't see why he bothers with them... :lau :lau
PCs are pretty but I'm not a fan of laced birds (at this time you can ask me why we got Dark Cornish). I like solid colored birds. In fact we are trying to shift our layer flock over to all red birds along with our pretty EEs from Ralphie. Although I think we are going to order 30-40 Sexlinks or RIRs next spring for eggs.

What are you looking for? Breeding stock? Layers? I am having some color issues in my males right now but I am hoping to get it straightened out with the females I am keeping back this year.
Ideally breeding stock but would take some straight runs to grow and pick the best of those. Just looking for a couple very hardy birds for dual purpose. Getting light Sussex this spring. Kinda wanted to try out some Buckeyes too.

I can hook you up with some. I am hoping to start getting eggs from them soon but we will see. I have a trio and a quad going to into breeding season and I'm really looking forward to see the chicks out of my quad. I think you would get some moves ones out of those birds.

I have a 1502 incubator also but I don't like the whole shipping egg thing. USPS hammers those poor little suckers. Hatch rates suck with shipped eggs. Just keep me posted. Interested.

The whites are pretty too, there's a bunch near me. Almost got them instead of the Partridge.
