Surviving Minnesota!

My PC decided she didn't want to be broody so I brought the eggs inside to finish them with an incubator. I am really hoping something hatches. I need 2 pullets and 2 cockerels for county and state to complete a full cochin class for me in the 4 classes. I am also hoping to do a trio of young blacks, but that depends on when the black pullet starts laying again. If I was to get a trio I would have 11 birds, max is 12 for 4H at county and state, and at state in open there is no limit

I guess both Cock birds have Pearl Eyes... The females have a yellowish color...

Meet the newest members of our buff Orpington family. In true Orpington fashion they have more interest in the food dish than water. last hatch in a foam incubator. 9 out of 11 hatched but one required assistance as it pipped from wrong end and it was stuck for 20 hours. My hopes are not to high for him.View attachment 1207342
Proof that Orpingtons DO lay eggs! Only one of my hens has ever laid...

That would be preferable but I suppose the lakes never freeze down there.
Do so! An I ain't a jumping in one neither. I got more sense than that. :smack
