Surviving Minnesota!

Le brrrrrrr.....

I slept in. Buffalo check flannel pj’s. Yellow Labrador. Fireplace. My Pillow.

Then I realized I had chickens to tend to in this God forsaken weather. Why did I get chickens?!?!

Somebody helped junior with his frost bit comb. It looked like a horror movie in the coop. Blood shaken and splattered every where. I’ll have to bring him in for a clean up. Wash his chicken blood out of his cape and paint him purple up there. Wattle swelling is down. They’re turning gray. They’re doing their thing. He’ll be aerodynamic this spring.

DH and DS got up at 5 and went crappie fishing. We had eggs and fresh crappie and sunfish for breakfast. Delicious. Male bonding most important part.

:hugs Sorry about Junior and the cold weather. I've had a bird in every day since the cold started for some reason or the other. SIGH. The first thing I will do when I have a good breeding base up is cull for birds that don't need to be babied.

I opened the pop door one EE came out and I could see her breath coming out of her nostrils. She turned and went back inside.
I can see my birds breathing too in this weather. Maybe they're dragons.

I have a few nutcases outside but even the ducks are mostly staying in shelter today.

Due to heavy predation this summer, I am currently chickenless. Other than having to *buy eggs at the store* :)sick), I'm OK with it this week.
