My grandpa and I were working today and we were visiting and he said "well I figured out what you are getting for Christmas"

Me "oh what's that?"

Grandpa "well you have done a lot for me around the farm this last year and I figured I would let you have that heifer calf we had to pull last spring"


So I got a cow for Christmas!

One of my PC's, Princess of course - has a weird looking eye. It looks white around the outer part, I took a couple pictures but they aren't good quality. My phone may have been too cold. In the photo it does look frozen but in reality it doesn't, so I don't know.
She still hates me and won't let me near her.

Well, bad pics are better than no pics.

Bantychooks and Holm - sorry for your losses dang boys

I think males are more fragile or something. I feel bad for saying it but at least it was extra cockerels that I lost.

The males have less fat insulation and keep their heads out in the cold, dumb boys.

Some of mine tuck their heads, but not all. Wonder what makes them do it or not do it?

My opinion, and I'm old so have lots of them... the males are in protection mode and think they need to keep watch over the flock so don't tuck their heads. The ones that do tuck heads are not top roo, or they're wimps

First off, the pencilling on that bird is wretched, you need to box her up and send her to me for safekeeping... second, is it bubbles? Like from a respiratory infection? That's what's going on with my AM male. I had hoped he'd be over it by now.
