Surviving Minnesota!

Hello. I am receiving 20 turkey poults in early April. 10 Bourbon Red and 10 Double Breasted Bronze. My plan was to free range them as I do my chickens. A guy at work told me it might be illegal to free range them as the DNR doesn’t want them interbreeding with the wild turkeys. I know this isn’t a problem for the DBBs but I suppose it is possible for the BRs. Do any of y’all know if any of this is true? Do any of y’all free range any heritage turkeys??

Planted my tomato seeds yesterday . 6 chickens went to camp yesterday . These were deboned and bones cooked for broth . Very cloudy here . So maybe a resting day .

I would think if they stayed on your property it would be legal, but you may want to check into it with the DNR to be sure.

What the DNR doesn’t kbow doesn’t hurt them. Get them involved in anything and you are gonna start paying for all sorts of made up crap..
