Surviving Minnesota!

Same here, most of my yard is bare, and we don't have snow in the forecast until this weekend. You all with snow and cold temps are kind of lucky actually. I have been dealing with so much mud lately. All my birds go outside but they drag in so much mud its nuts. All the poor hens are caked from the boys doing their thing... but in the middle of mud puddles:barnie I feel so bad for the poor things, I'm worried all their feet are just going to rot off from hardly ever drying.

All you guys talking about snow storms...I haven’t a single flake that has come down for me today. :idunno

Dislike. dislike. Dislike.

I drive past one high school and work at another high school. Driving past the first high school nearly landed my butt in the ditch. One of the kids decided to slam on the brakes and do the do-si-do with a car in the other lane only to come to a stop facing me in my lane. Let out a sigh of relief and continue driving only to find the 2nd high school (my place of work) has a train stopping the one inlet to school and an accident holding up traffic to the other main inlet. GRRRREAT!

Sent kids to school in DS's p/u truck with a skiff of snow out there. Told him to check the highway and let me know if it was ice skate worthy under the skiff or just dry tar. It was cold enough when it came through that it was a skiff. No freezing rain. Thank goodness.

Kids driving... Nervous Nellie here for sure. I'll be driving them crazy I suppose.

That's okay....

I was in my glory when my Kids started driving..I knew everything they did....all the time! It paid to wear purple back then....
I didn't have quite that much going for me, but we're in a small, rural community. One of the dispatchers is a friend of mine. I told my kids if they got in trouble, I'd know about it before they ever got home because Dawn would give me a call.

It pays to have friends in low places! :gig:gig

Did you know if you put your eggs in an ice cream bucket with 1 inch of wood chips in the bottom...
load it with a 18 eggs, then drop it from a height of ~ 3.5 ft...50% of the eggs will break.....Some will be barely recognizable as eggs...

Well, now I will no longer have to lay awake at night wondering about that! Thanks for the good info, Ralphie!
