Surviving Minnesota!

Morning.,,
Holm, I find it terrible you would call Banty a cow, but I do agree she has been acting crazy...........

I suspect she is going to have a calf about those ducklings she insists on hatching.....:gig:gig:gig:gig:gig:gig:gig:gig

@Drea07 I hope you did not think I was implying you not try to hatch them any longer. If it is alive I try to hatch it, I have even set side saddle eggs, I just do not have @MNChickMom 's luck at getting them out of the egg.

Quail, thanks much :tongue :tongue

EVERY SINGLE ONE OF MY BUCKEYE HENS LAID TODAY. They are such good birds... Granted they lost a lot of their beaks... I trim them down good as I know they like eggs... But now haven’t had an issue...
Told you . Pay attention Ralphie .[/QUOTE]

I believed you. They still try every once in awhile but they quit after a peck or two as I assume it hurts a little bit... And for anyone that’s fears about them not eating afterwards don’t worry... Mine still eat their fair share lol

Oh, boy......

Oh, boy....

How do the judges like the new trimmed beak look?

I might have to do some serious looking at my birds and decide who to trim.

I don’t have any intentions on showing a Buckeye hen... I will maybe show a few pullets... I didn’t trim beaks on any possible show birds..

Got to get chicks to have show birds . Start where you are with what you have . You have egg eaters that = no chicks . Decisions .
