Surviving Minnesota!

Our sons grew up going there - never missed a year! We just attended the show, didn’t work there. We still go every chance we get. We help out at a little show near Twin Brooks, SD.
If you go this summer let me know! I’ll probably have some birds there in the Pioneer Village...

I am tired of winter. I just candled my current hatch.

Global warming is killing my hatch. I am guessing most of these non-starters simply froze to death.

I think there are less than a half dozen red rings of death in this bunch. Only one of my patched eggs is developing, but it seems to be going great. I have about 3 dozen in the "snowballs chance in Hades" of hatching tray. I have 10 turkey eggs doing well. I did not pull out any turkey eggs as it is only day 8 - 9 days. I never throw a turkey before 12 days.

Ralphie, I am of the opinion that most of these DNA test services are primarily Bovine Scheize. They would not hold up in a court of law. Those I am familiar with seem not to support recorded history.

Holms, what variety of Marans is it that you were the winner of ?

Latest weather report. Mn Banana Belt 36+ inches. North of that 0.

Sheesh I forget to check for a day and you all are going on about Canby. I don't know who to believe about this snow BS. I'm hearing rain first then a billion inches of snow. That will make my driveway even more of a night mare. I've built a bridge out the pop door of the coop so the poor spoilt chickens don't have to get their feet wet as the lake in my back yard is ever rising.

If you need me I'll be planning my vacation to Italy and the mountains of Switzerland (where there's bound to be less snow).
