Howdy Minnesota. Happy MEA weekend. My boys are in NW North Dakota shooting dux and Sis and I are at home doing a little work, a little relaxation. Arts and Crafts. Time with the dog and chicks. I believe I'll get my run winterized and the coop ready too. Some rain and drop in temps overnight. I want to get some dried sand/dirt for their dust bath tub. Get some ashes from Mom and Dad as I think they've burned the fireplace a couple times. Get a good blend. The chickens loved their 70 degree yesterday. The one lavender is still coming through her molt but everybody else seems to be through and done for the most part. Some fluff feathers although emerged look shorter yet. Tail feathers the same. I gave tuna fish yesterday as a burst of protein and some Electrolyte in the water seems to make things progress a little better too...diminish stress.
Holms the new avian adventure looks interesting. What do you do with them? Other than shows? Eggs have to be too small for eggs benedict?
Sorry about the sale of your favorite girl. I know it's farm business....but surely one cuddle cow on Grandpa's place wouldn't hurt? LOL. I'm such a softy. I understand. When Dad sold the farm he said he never had trouble putting the steers in the trailer each year. All part of beef cattle raising. But the day he sent the Mommas to market he had tears he said. He put a lot of care into his animals.
I'm off to do some chicken chores and visit the folks. Happy fall weekend all!
