Surviving Minnesota!

Ralphie, I commend you on devising creative ways to obtain things of interest to you. When you get to the point that legal representation in divorce court is required I wish you good luck.

Layers, list that Brinsea on ebay, and I will bid it up for you. I suggest you start the bidding at $1.00. then Banty can get one bid in anyway.
Hey, I heard that!

6-7 inches of super fluff.

The wild birds are going through a ton of feed here. In addition to the domesticated ones.

I had a squirrel learn to climb into the feeder the other day. I had to take care of that problem before the others learned also. Anyone that likes friend Squirrel is welcome to come here and hunt them.. It will be more like shooting than hunting.

I went out this morning and thought the day was pleasant. It was not. The wind has a nip to it, my poor fingers froze.....The thermometer is falling. I thought the snow could be packed down on top of the ice to make it safer walking. It cannot, this is the type of snow that makes it even more dangerous for us old folks to walk outside...

I plowed out the drive to the road and too the chickens. I did not visit the chickens yet. Hopefully, I will do better than the 4 eggs I got yesterday.

As you could tell from the picture I sent of my prize from the Orrock township raffle, I went fishing yesterday afternoon. Another waste of time. I had some small fish on the bottom but they would not bite.

I hooked a monster northern with my crappie line (after I saw him swim in on my raffle prize).. I fought him for about 5 minutes but I could not get him to put his head into the hole so my son could risk his fingers reaching into his mouth and pull him out of the water...

We had a good time though. I have to wonder though, why when there is acres upon acres of ice around me, do people (from the cities, I might add) decide they have haul their Ice Castles onto the lake and park them 5 feet from my little portable.....No lie, on the 5 ft.

Then they spend hours leveling drilling holes driving around and making noise that cause me to want to go postal........

After the hours spent leveling and doing whatever in their Ice castles they simply leave them and drive away...This was not don once but twice yesterday, Once on each side off me.

Granted I was sitting on a drop off/ledge bu the ledge is 300 feet long. Could they not have moved 50 ft away and placed their castles?

It is time to move to Togo full-time,,,,if only the little woman would agree to it.

There are not many ice castles in Togo, people are afraid to leave them for fear the Sasquatch family would settle in for the winter.

I lost my favorite little stupid white rooster yesterday. He refused to join the rest of the birds in the coop for the winter. A few days ago I caught him as he was hanging around following me, and put him in the coop. Sunday when I did chores, I forgot to close the cover on the stock tank completely. I assume because I am old and forgetful and my fingers were frozen from the cold.... Yesterday the rooster took a swim in the stock tank and failed to get out before hypothermia set in...or he drowned because he forgot how to float on his back and wait for help to arrive.

Hoover was not around to help him as he as converted to Islam and has 2 wives to care for.
