Too hot here also . My first ripe tomato . Well almost ripe . Cucumbers blooming . Been stressful around here since the baby was born . Daughter went back . Predators active here but no losses so far . Broody has hatched but will not let me see much 3 for sure .

My hollyhocks started blooming today but why are they not tall? only about 4 feet, I think they are supposed to get like 6 feet or more!?

Mine are about done blooming . Yes mine do reach 6-7 feet tall . Fertility and heat will push them . So perhaps a cool start to the season held them back .

Yes it was a cool start here, 2 years ago they were tall. Last years were shorter too but I just thought it was a different variety. This years should be the same as two years aago..

Morning . Hey earlibrd here is a picture of my tallest hollyhock 9 feet tall . So here is how it happened . The end of the gutter drips . So well watered good fertility and hot summer .

A crazy old man . Walk out basement side . So 12 feet of scaffold plus step stool when needed . Oh a 12 foot 2 x 8 over to that bracket on the ladder at one point . Helper passed on walking that .

So hot here, too hot. I had to put an air conditioner in downstairs. I hate having to use air conditioners. I prefer fresh air as much as possible since the house is closed up for so long in winter. This sucks.

I agree, I prefer to have the windows open but...

We would all be dead down here without air conditioning! Also, any temps below freezing might kill us too.

Even the birds use fans down here!

It is dry enough here that we get to use swamp coolers.
