Surviving Minnesota!

My strawberries have been ripening for several days I need to pick them again. I haven't frozen any like I did last year. Just eating and drinking them. I only planted them 2 years ago and they need thinning, it's a mess. We picked wild ones at Grandmas when I was a kid and they were very tasty but in those days everything didn't have to be sweet to be good.

I can understand the pretty flowers for the bees and such though!!

Good morning! And just like that over 2 more inches of rain. Fell in about an 1.5 hours too. Ditches are flooded, again. Good thing I tilled the garden the last couple days or I would be in a lot of weed trouble by the time it dries out again. It looks like the banana belt may just be getting rain right now.

My little portion of the banana belt is getting nothing. The rain splits and goes north or south of us. Or it simply dissipates before reaching here..

I still need rain.

Wow just heard from an acquaintance in Eastern North Dakota that they had 7 inches of rain. It is a slow moving line that is also moving almost directly North and then just seems to make a jump East but just keeps going North. So if there is rain to your south it is going to keep raining.

I zoomed in on the radar and poor Orrock really isn’t getting rain. The future cast looks like the storms will dissipate but then regroup this afternoon so maybe this evening? I’ll cross my fingers and get down on one knee to offer a prayer because clearly up here someone went down on both knees.

The wild ones I occasionally find here aren't very sweet either, but OMG the burst of 🍓 is amazing! 🤯😋

Good morning! It’s going to be a scorcher here today! 90* full sun in a cloudless sky. Did I mention all that rain that will be evaporating giving the air more moisture. Man the humidity is going to be brutal. The unofficial state bird is going to hatch out in unprecedented numbers too I am sure!

The silver lining in being bone dry - practically zero of the state bird, few ants, “fewer” Horse flies and deer flies 🙂 it’s a great year for campers, and fishing seems to be good, but we haven’t gone for a while.
