Saw Rogers high school and another school (can't remember the school) shooting last year at the range, fun stuff, except some girl kept resting the barrel of her gun in the dirt (No, there was no ground barrel rest) couldn't believe her coaches didn't say anything to her... dangerous.

Maybe they wanted to see her breeches explode!

Do you think the bird digestion gives a seed a bigger advantage?

I suppose the seed shells might get scuffed and scraped in the crop with the little rocks. and Give them a better opportunity to germinate...like what you do with Morning Glory seeds. And then soaked in Nitrogen for a day....I guess is another good thing for it.

I did some major Googling of Straw Bale Gardening last night. A guy is selling the concept with computer videos (for sale) and (book sales). But I think I have it figured out. He likes straw but any mulching substrate without many seeds will do put in a bale of some sort. He then triggers bacteria growth with a two week Nitrogen soak of the bale to get the compost process started. Then you add some weed-seed less soil to the tops. Soaker hoses....climbing twines for tomatoes and it looks slick as can be!

This is just for seeds that have to go through a bird to grow . In this case the raspberry was the focus . They then need warm stratification then cold stratification . Raspberry are very complicated to grow from seed . This is so I can breed my own crosses for more cold hardy large fruited blackberry . It would be nice if it were the raspberry . This process is to duplicate a bird eating a raspberry the pooing out the seed that then spends the summer in/on the ground followed by cold weather and finally growing come spring/summer .

I saw some kids with ground barrel rests last year in Proctor when we went there. And at Alex. I'm sure it's hard to keep everybody on the straight and narrow. But with that sport one needs to be on top of EVERYTHING!!!

Our Coach is very good and very type A personality. He's a perfectionist on form and expects the kids and their conduct that way too. Great growing sport.

Personally I think they should have to hold their guns, no barrel rests either, bad habit and all, but that is just me...

That is good, I think they should be able to hole their gun in proper form always, part of the sport. when you are out hunting you are always holding it, why should trap be any different? should be as real world as possible...

I would have loved shooting trap in high school, i'm glad it is becoming such a big sport!

I read the article, but for some reason the video isn't coming up. good stuff. I think it is a great sport for kids! They get a really good handle on guns and gun safety and taking care of guns. good stuff all around.
