Surviving Minnesota!

Just heading out to church. When I get back I will take care of the chickens and ducks, put the horses in the corrals, then go put the stansion up in the barn. After all that is done my dad and I are going to go check cows with the horses.
At 12:00 my sister and I have to go into town for a band recital for our trip to SanFran this June.
Then I will hopefully come back soon enough to spend some time with the hens

Sounds fun! Last night I was walking through checking cows and noticed Lily was acting a little off. So we put her in a calving pen and this morning she had a little bull calf! I am glad she calved! I would have been imbarrased if we put her in there for nothing! Lol

that would've been super embarrassing.

Details!! Details.. what kind of guns? How much?

The are 3 auto loaders.
2 of them are Savage Arms 745s and one is a Browning Magnum 12

They are all 3 variants of the Auto 5 by browning. The SA models are made in the US and the browning is made in Belgium.

I paid 150 each for two and 50 for the third. They are pretty nice. Photos tonight maybe when I get home. I will probably fix one of them up real pretty and sell it for as much as I paid for all 3

Good Morning ! Going to be a nice day here . Not windy and sunny . Those fabric pot I bought are said to be 5 gallons but really only hold about 10 quarts .

Good luck on them! They sound great, the prices sound like a bargain.

I have found with Browning guns trying to find the date and place of manufacture can be a PITA. I do not recall the dates they were made in Belgium but I know there was some fuzziness with guns from 1937-47. If I recall correctly they moved production to the USA for a few years or Canada, It has been years since I read about this and I just do not recall the whole story. I tried to find it on google with no luck. Either way your gun is pre-1976 which is good! The guns after that come from Japan.

I look forward to photos!

Kloppers thats awesome! I love Browning! They r my favorite brand! I use a Browning 20 ga. for waterfowl hunting and a Browning 270. for deer hunting. I also use a Winchester (I think) for deer hunting sometimes...

Yeah I'm fuzzy on years but from what I remember Mr Browning came up with the design and wanted Remington to make it but something fell through. So they needed up being made by FN in Belgium. Then during WWII they couldn't get them made so they made them in the us by Savage and Remington.
They saw use in that war and in vietnam

Yeppers. Sounds like you know the story, the only reason I mentioned it is there can be a huge difference in the value of the gun for collectors based on when and where it was made.

Also there were some accusations of patent thievery with Colt, Smith or Wesson early on to as I recall. Supposedly, or legend has it one of the revolvers one of those made was actually a Browning design.

Lovely day today. Planning on working on my coop today. I have an old half round shed/coop. (They are called something, but I can't remember right now.) You can see it on the left side of this photo.

Anyway, it was in pretty rough shape, and the previous owners put on new shingles, and vinyl siding. It still needs some patching and things on the inside. It is 12x12 and six feet tall. I'm gping to make half a grow out pen that will have a run outside, and add a smaller growout pen and in the left over space, a couple brooder pens.
