Surviving Minnesota!

I fed chickweed to the chicks . They love it . Got a bucket of cherry tomato plant growing . About a foot high . Started them too early . I hate picking small tomatoes . Wife likes them . I eat whatever until the slicers are ready . Sun is coming out .

Quote: I must be in the southern edge of the banana belt Ralphie, here is a photo from this morning, right about when you took your bird feeder photo I imagine, it is windy for sure now though! glad I didn't have to go to work, looks like the roads were not too good this morning.

This is a little deceiving though, they were only out for a few minutes before it started snowing ice balls.. lol gotta enjoy it while you can!
There is two new calves on the ground. One Tarentaise cross heifer and a big old bull calf from one of the new cows.
Woot woot!

What do you guys prefer. Cup or nipple waterers?
Horizontal nipples if you are using them in winter with a bird bath deicer and a pond pump then they should not freeze. no guarantees though with our weather. You can look at the photos under my avatar under "My Coop" if you want to see my set up.

Quote: Agreed.

That is a beaut! I love fresh bread. We are all of ours up quickly this week (I bake on Sunday usually)

Recently I've been having issue with getting a hollow center in my bread that is doughy around. Ever seen that? Not sure what the heck has changed

Only guessing, check oven temp. Maybe a new thermometer?

edited to add: Thank you!!

I found a stash of 6 duck eggs . Not a nest as they were really muddy . Guess I will put them in the bator . Mules from the Pekin hen .
