Surviving Minnesota!

Just got home from Maple Grove where I met my sister who lives in St. Paul.

It was dry roads through Rogers, then coming up 101 it began to drizzle slightly and the pavement was wet and then west of Elk River on 10 Holy Smoley - sleet and rain coming down hard! So interesting going through all the weather changes within just a few miles.

U were in my aunts neighborhood!

I thought it was Klop that posted the link to the big incubators, but it was Holm. Holm you are a very young man and have lots of time to start a chick order business. I think you need those incubators.

Ralphie tree damage is in the yard and woods. Lots of broken branches and even trunks on some smaller ones. Lost a major part of a 25 yr old Amur Maple.

Klop that tractor must have come from Wisc. or Iowa?
no from about 60 miles west of me near Mankato. I bought it from a guy my age that bought it from his tractor collector neighbor. it runs great and believe it or not, i test mowed with it yesterday (kind of) and it mows great too. The tractor collector must have had 75-100 tractors on his place when we drove by.

Thanks cluckies!

This is true. But I am also to young to afford that!!

Kloppers, the bumper sticker on the front of the tractor would get me a years worth of double secret probation. Not that I did not have those same thoughts about the hawks yesterday.

Yeah I'm not sure why he would put that in there, let alone why anybody even makes fhat sticker. It will be coming off right away.

The only other thing this tractor needs is a new exhaust manifold as this one is rusted out. Runs great though

Klop, I speculate that the collector got the tractor from out of state, as no self respecting Minnesota farmer or tractor owner would put that sticker on their tractor.

Holm, you should not let the expense of these business assets be a project stopping obstacle. Where there is a will there is a way.

My NCAA bracket took a beating yesterday, and that is what one might call an insurmountable object.

I dont let expense stop me. My parents help alot with feed for the chooks but they wont buy me any poultry. I have to buy tgat myself which is totally fine with me.

Hi, Sleepy Owl :frow I have a little silkie hen that is amazing! She would hatch a doorknob if you let her, and when she's running around the yard with chicks, she goes all kung-fu on any cat dog or whatever that gets too close to those chicks!! Nothing like a Broodie silkie. Lol. they get past that first year and get the "MN rosecomb" or whatever the nickname is, they don't get frostbite the next year.

I have a bad habit of towing my new farm toys home in the dark.... Here is a photo from the ad

I am back. Ended the trip nicely with a crash fad diet in the form of a stomach bug. I'm currently 7 lbs lighter than before my trip and my clothes hang off of me in a nice loose fashion. Side effects of this special diet: bed sores from lying in bed for 30 hours. Tootsie and the girls resplendent cruising an early spring lawn.

BC, I am impressed with the extent you will go to lose weight. I wish I had that kind of commitment. Glad your back.

I just let the chickens out for the first time in 46 hours. They were not all that happy with me. They were glad to be out, but I think they wanted out hours ago. The skies are free of Hawks today, so far.
