Surviving Minnesota!

That is why and what they make those backpack flasks for...

A-ha!

I'm usually one to tea-totle at High School Events though. Saves the refs and such from getting an ear ful. And the idea of giving my kid a safe ride home appeals to me, yet.

Here is yesterdays Creamers and creamettes just venturing out from under their heating pad for the first time...

It is amazing I put them near the pad and they go right under and stay there for hours...

There is still 15-18 under the pad. these are the brave ones.

I am not looking forward to this fall... I need to replace bubba the big Australorp Welsummer cross roo and find a rooster with a blue or green egg gene. Which I am sure Ralph will have some... And then I have to decide whoch hens to cull and what to replace them with... Life is full of to many decisions....

Live in the moment and enjoy these chickens while you have them! You never know how the wind will blow between now and this fall

I have been having hard hankerings lately to get sheep! It keeps coming up in conversation in random places and it is hard not to think about! I could have flocks of chickens and herds of sheep roaming my farm!!

Jerry, the june berry I refer to is a small tree similar to pin cherry or chokecherry. It is commonly known as service berry and latin name Amelanchier. Very good ornamental and has edible berries, which look and taste somewhat similar to a blueberry.
