Surviving Minnesota!

I have not,, Trim the hens feathers?

I have never heard of this!! Thank you, thank you thank you...

I am going to go give two broody hens a feather cut right now!   Maybe  I should trim all the breeders vent feathers just to help the hatch rate...Will it help?

My DW wants to know how much I am going to make her cut from the chickens butt?

I'm so glad you mentioned this Jerry. I had heard it a couple years back but had forgot about it. Also cleaning a poopy butt/fluff would help make contact too. One year kindergarten teacher asked for a dozen hatching eggs from Roger and the girls. No development. It had been a harsh winter (-20 every morning) as well but his feathers around the vent were in need of spring cleaning. So not sure which or both problems contributed to infertility

My Post office calls me at about 4am when I get chicks in.
I will watch the tracking. so far it only shows that the shipping label was created at 4:17 PM, so maybe they just prepared the labels earlier. I'm just a little miffed that they would send the notification that late in the day when there is nobody in the office to take a call.

I will keep an eye on the tracking and see if it updates over night. I will be up at least one time in the night to check on my SS chicks. I just moved them out to my shed under the hover brooder. i like to check in frequently after making changes. they also will have hanging waterers now so i need to make sure they are figuring that out too.

That could be, I always thought they shipped on Tuesday, and mine came Wednesday or Thursday depending on the slow mail truck we have up here.

They have changed a ton of stuff down there this year including more ship dates (3 days a week on CXs), free shipping on all orders, and more breeds. As well as a new website/order processing system

My last order shipped on a Tuesday and arrived Early Wednesday morning at the PO.
