Uh, you got my number! Only I like them hot. Yes, Caramel High Rise is similar in flavor but not exact, a lighter coffee flavor to it.

Rain started here at 2:00 or so. It has been going ever since. It made me even more tired that I usually am. I got the tomatoes in the other day. DH thought we had enough in at the first row. I got him to do the second with me, then I finished the third by myself. 40 tomato plants total. I have 53 pepper plants to get in too if it ever dries enough and if I ever get out to do anything more than rush through chores. The onions and potatoes are coming along but back-filling needs to be done. Again, if the dang ground with dry enough. The cabbage family is coming on after the seeds took forever to germinate in the ground. I started some inside too and they should got into the ground this week if I can get out there. I still have more onions to put in, and everything else. I guess I will skip peas since it is too late and the aphids will dessicate them before they fill in. I have never gotten them in as early as they should be, but after Memorial Day is a waste, the hot weather just attract too many pests to them.
We have a BOATLOAD of strawberries coming on. I will have to advertise to sell some this year if my daughter doesn't go out and gobble them all. I think that is unlikely since we have about 200 plants now. LOL The blueberries were coming on too, last I looked.
My husband had murderous thoughts tonight when he drove down the driveway and notice his artichoke plants I started for him were eaten off by cottontails. If they didn't eat the crown of it, they might grow again. I doubt it though. His hops are growing like crazy and he has them all trellised nicely. Now, to figure out how to harvest those things. Anyone have a cherry picker to loan us?

You better be careful mixing Guinea eggs and Real bird eggs.  Chickens are 21 days and guineas are 25 days with some going 27.  It would be near impossible to get them tio hatch on the same day.   I have my guinea eggs set to hatch 3 days after my chickens and 3 days before my turkeys and my fingers are crossed that will work out so I have the hatcher brooder space I need. 


And Grats on  Getting the Fufu's from Minnie.......  I really want some but the eagles here do make it hard.... I have the 4 (fingers crossed) White sports that will never see the day they free range because of the eagles.   I have found a white bird amongst all my colored birds gets nailed fast by them. They are going to live their lives out in covered runs, unless I get so many white sports I do not mind losing one or two.

I thought if you popped the chicken eggs seven days later it would be okay?
If not, pay for a broody to take on the last of the hatchers.

I got alot done outside even if it was threatening rain, and it is raining now. Weeded the peas, beans and cukes and added compost and then staked them. Finished the front of the re-figured chicken coop and cleaned out the chicken run. Took a loooonnnnngggggg nap. Felt good.

Been rubbing Vicks on the chest and putting a heat pad on top of it to really push it in. Yesterday and today are the first time I have been able to breath deep or normal since May 9th. Hmmm. . . . something to be said about Grandmas old time fixes.

Let the new ones - they are getting quite large - free-range for the first time today. They LOVED that of course.

I have been encourage to get a video of DH and Tom Hanks. They have found ways to avoid each other so I don't know if that will happen now.

No, Vicks is good, especially on the feet. I have no idea why.
I have done what u can in this weather, and it's good enough for me. Let it be good enough for you, too.

I've found that when one crop is a bust, another flourishes beyond imagination. Stay diverse, you will get what you need.

Just an update... I got four EEs today, in very good condition. If anyone's near Cambridge, she's got good stock but she's going off to college. More than EEs, I'll PM you the info if needed.

Still have an EE roo and a couple silkIes to get before I call it a season. LOL

The actual time on a Guinea egg is 25 days. BUT they are very unreliable, they hatch when they want. In theory start the Guineas 4 days early...Good luck.

No, Vicks is good, especially on the feet. I have no idea why.

My Dr claims it cures athletes foot between the toes and toe nail fungus... He also practices voodoo and witchcraft though..
