Surviving Minnesota!

What moon phase is it? First dropped eggs this morning.....now Rooster on top of the hen run. Yes this rooster flew up and over dog kennel wall that was loosely cv over ed with bird netting. The little stinker flew between the 3 inch gap in bird netting. Drug it loose and free he was!

That sounds like past tense, does that mean he is no longer free?

I might be able to find a place for him in the Chicken Merry Go-round...

I am new to gardening so reading your guys' responses to cracked tomatoes has been great. I was wondering what happened. Now I know. Too much water.

Ralph sorry to hear of Judy not being well. Hopefully she is on the mend soon.

Jerry I am a tiny bit more north (and not by the lake) than EJB and I get tomatoes that pop up in the garden I didn't plant too. LOTS of them. Even have some growing this year in the manure pile we cleaned out from the pigs. They went to market last November and I did not plant a thing in the pile. The tomatoes are nice sized ones so not cherries. I will try to take a pics to show you.

Been having our fill of car troubles lately. About had it and ready to scrap the lot of them. Oh well, hoping they are fixed soon.

Congrats on the great turnout at the fair @Minniechickmama and @holm25

OK couple of questions for my far north friends . Do tomatoes volunteer in your gardens ? Interested in knowing if seeds survive your winters . Second does anyone grow fall bearing raspberries . Interested to know if any ripen the fall crop .

I have volunteer tomatoes, cantaloupe, and pumpkins come up when I leave them out on the garden or they get tilled under in the fall. So yes the seeds survive. I have two varieties of raspberries one ripens about 2 weeks before the other. Latham and something else. Usually get berries July and early August.
