Surviving Minnesota!

Just got back from a chiropractor visit again . Hey Ralphie I had fried okra the other night . Gonna be another hot one here today . Rain coming tonight . Sawyer is set for the 29th .

I would require a trip to the ER if I ate a whole serving of okra. I really cannot stand it, I would rather eat grits, which I just hate. Rain is headed here today too.

I will have to calculate when I get home. We had all the corn and oats from our last year harvest. I do know one thing is for sure...I will be buying all my calcium at Heims from here on out. Calcium was $4 per 50 pound bag....versus Mills fleet...$7.

We mixed our first batch of Chicken Feed. We used the prescribed recipe from Heims Mill with their concentrate. We mixed up 1 ton and are storing it in a grain bin with auger. I bring over 55 gallon Brute and fill. So far the chickens have devoured the new feed. I have 2 feeders, one with Heim's Mill layer pellets and one with our new feed and the feed mill feed is not being touched. We are sharing this ration with my father in law. Man did the John Deere grunt when we put the finest screen in the grinder mixer for the corn.

Awesome! My chickens have loved it since I started grinding my own too! It saves so much money too. I mix mine up in 100# batches once a week.

Taking it easy for awhile to let my body adjust to the treatment . I have a new idea for critter trapping . I have a couple of homemade pipe feeders for the chickens . I bet I could set one out with feed and fix it so a conibear covers the opening . Kind of a new twist on a bucket set . They catch on so fast once they see another one caught .

I just finished my salsa
wee.gif
28 pints and 3 pint and a half jars.

Oyster mushrooms . I left smaller ones to grow . One in upper left has more stem as it was on top of the stump . Not as humid so I been outside working . Body is moving better . So yea .

FYI for those who are interested. There is no tired like the first day/week of school tired. Trying to walk 16 3 year olds down the hallway who have never walked in a line before is quite entertaining to those watching and quite exasperating for the one training. I am exhausted and the day is not done yet. You may not see me for awhile! haha
