Just remember to be polite about it. Doesn't matter what you think those ducks are worth, it matters what the seller wants for them. If you get pushy with them about their claims they are liable to tell you to shove off just like @duluthralphie said. Haggling is a practiced art and offending somebody because of what they write isn't going to get you a deal.

Not saying don't try to get out there and make a deal, just a friendly reminder not to be too proud! Think about how you would want someone to treat you if you were selling.

Why would they pay for feed for 5 months and not expect to get a few bucks of the feed back? Even at 10 bucks more than they paid for them they are losing money?

A good haggler would say that the ducks are used up another year and that at this time of year they should be so lucky to off load them at such even that good of a price at risk of having to care and feed them over the winter.

That would take a good smooth talker and some work up to it

Only for one year, 45 years ago. I am just getting over the shock of it now. Every time I see a tumbleweed roll buy at about 70mph I have flashbacks.
