They were certainly not Norwegian, as those folks wrote the book on logging, and they tend to their own business. Would you not agree Ralphie?

BC Roger Jr looks like my PC's.
Mo3. Did you say earlier your barred males are darker than your females?
I just checked mine because I thought mine were the other way around, and they are. Both the Doms and the Cuckoo Marans.
My problem with Cackle was not the quality of the birds it was the "straight" run they sent me that ticks me off. 26 males out of 32 just does not do it for me.
Yes. The Wellies are definitely Partridge-y. Perfect Camo for Northern woods IMHO.BC Roger Jr looks like my PC's.

Ivie what are you using for bedding, years ago I was told straw gives mites a place to hide.
Ivie: lice and mites happen to the best of set-ups and pampering and such. Old hay bales... Yes I've heard that. Wild turkeys and birds visiting. I've quit feeding wild birds in part due to this issue. But I've also seen my territorial high hens and roosters give good chases to jays, flickers, robins... You name it. And they've got pretty close. Comical but pITA if the wilds are sharing cooties.
