Surviving Minnesota!

So today our band teacher gave us a song that has a choir part also. Apparently the JH & HS choir along with grades 2-6 are singing and our band which is 7-12 are doing it together for the Christmas Concert. But when 3/4 of the band kids are also in choir, we had to cut our band of 50 to a band of 28 so that the choir can still have strong singers, a lot of our sections moved around a lot, but we made a lot of not so good kids do the choir instead which will definitely help in the long run of getting the song prepared. Me, a 1st trumpet is playing 3rd with a 2nd trumpet cause we did not want any of the actual 3rd trumpets to play this song cause it would be way to hard. Another 1st trumpet is playing 2nd with a 2nd and then we have the 2 other, and oldest 1st players on 1st. We only have 3 saxophones cause the rest have to sing, our best trombone player has to sing, along with one of our tenor saxs...

We also only have 15 days for it. If we pull it off it will be AMAZING!!! But it could also turn out badly....

@jerryse how are you doing now ?

Morning

Looks like another cloudy yucky day. I have to go to Monticello before the rain hits. I only picked up a few bags the other day.

Looks like a warm day anyways. 49 right now. Maybe I could find a mushroom, if I had the time. SO much to do before winter. Taking the family members to the Dr's is really cutting into winter preparations this year. It seems every nice day when I could get a lot done I have to go to a medical facility. The days I don't go are cold rainy making it near impossible to make a lot of headway.. Whining done.

More coffee intake needed.

If it does rain on me I will be in the pole barn, I hope, moving things I have been hoarding outside, so I can hoard them there, and getting ready for spring. I have so much cleaning and building to do in the barn. I hate to start hatching in the basement again, but I am afraid I might. I have until April to get moved outside. I had hoped to be out there by now.

Hurry up and type, I need to read something.

Well today is more cleaning here too. It is cloudy and damp but not raining. I am going to clean out the coop. Seems a never ending job. Clean the house too, which is another seemingly endless job too. Something about 5 kids and a DH that make it hard to keep up with the house too.

Good Morning Chickeners . . . . . Someday I won't type that and I believe you are going to miss it then.

The 6 1/2 week old chicks that re section off in the chicken run are starting to venture out of their area by ducking under the chicken wire. They remember where it is so they can get back to safety quickly. Its fun to watch the flock growing and getting used to each other.

Thats about all there is here about chickens.

OH! So far so good about the mites. I dust with DE about every two days and when I added pine needle to their run I dusted DE into it. Seems to be working.

Hey Ralphie - do you have any SS Roos left?

I have lots of SS roos. I will have until the next time the Nice Asian lady visits, After which I will have none. (well none other than my breeders)

Good morning. No surprise. I didn't get up at 7 and leave by 8 to get to brainerd, as I intended. I slept in and so did teenagers. That's what Saturdays are for. It does not help today's schedule however. Time to get moving.

I put up some trim work in the bathroom. I need to get more 1 x 6's though. DH framed a spot by duct work that need to be put in for ceiling system support. So I was glad to get that out of him. Rest will be up to yours truly after I shop at menards. Fun times.

Time to wake my sleepyheads.

Minnesotanice we are hunting up by Thief River Falls on the old family farm. It's buck and doe tags up there.

I can't wait to see next year's Muscovys!

good morning all! slept in a bit, made some eggs... now its time to go get to work. I am with you ralphie, need to get cracking with winter preparations. time to start working on converting the old shop to the new coop!
