Surviving Minnesota!

I would pack the blaze orange bikini, but then DH would want to come with and spend time in my deer stand with me. He talks too much. I was actually just going through my gear and took out some of my heavier clothing. It'll be easy peasy walking through the woods this year.

I'll swing through Togo for you - I'm assuming your mice eat premium organic feed?

Morning . Not sure how I will handle the time change , It will be even earlier . Think I will go for coffee today . A little social time .

You're such a social butterfly!

I am liking the morning. Still dark so I can sit here and not feel like I should be doing "something". Not that the feeling ever makes me do something....

I hope you hunters do well. I uploaded my pictures from our walk yesterday. I found this poor tree some buck took a disliking too:

I have to go to the Doctors again today. This will be the 3rd time this week. I sure hope she is getting better I am not getting anything done taking her to the Dr.

When we walked yesterday we followed the swamp around, there will be no deer hunters in it this year, which is kind of nice for us and privacy. The water is higher than most springs this year. I am not sure if there is a beaver dam or just from the rains. If it is a beaver dam, it is the first "good" beaver I have ever known about...

I am still waiting on my catalogue from New Ulm. I called again yesterday, it is coming, I hope. the cut off date is the 11th. But they said they will be "lenient" I am thinking of washing birds on Sunday or Thursday the 2 warm days in the forecast. Maybe it will go faster this time.

I have not decide what to take.

Also I found out on here yesterday, the Legbar Association is working towards three colors of legbars, Cream, Crele and white. I have no idea what Crele is but I bet I have some, I am thinking those are the golder ones,
I wonder if they will succeed?

Time to turn on the TV and ruin my quiet..

I have 2 coops cleaned for winter. Just a few more to go. Class will start at 1pm today for those wishing to participate. Please bring "Henry's Black Cherry" today to share with the class.

Good morning all! It's off to work then home to pack for hunting. If you have any spare time, please say a quick pprayer for my daughter. first year hunting and her mother is a nervous wreak. Good luck all hunters!

Judy and I were talking about her last night during Chicken TV and holding hour, about what a chicken person she is and how much she likes them.

Good luck on the hunt.

I took Judy for a walk to the south pasture today. She had never been there. It is an amazing woods and she loved it. But the walk was a tad much for her. I am guessing we walked about 2 miles total.

I love this nice November weather.
Perhaps she did get tired, but nature has healing powers that sitting inside can never match, no matter the meds. You gave her a dose of healing you just can't measure, I am sure of it.

We don't hunt, which is fine. I am not against it, I just don't enjoy venison like some of you.

We have seen more deer around our property this week than usual, even though we know they are out around our property plenty from the footprints we are always finding. One buck decided to scrape on one of our White Pine trees that we transferred a couple of years ago to along the driveway. I don't think it will kill it, but it sure doesn't help it.

It was frosty here this morning. The heaviest frost we have had so far this year.

DH came out yesterday and asked what we should do with the gardens still. We haven't planted the garlic, which for us is pretty late. So, we torched the garden we are putting it in. With all we had going on, the gardens just got left to their own devices and grass took over. So, now that it was all dried up, it burned off pretty quick and easy. I may go out and see if I can run a tiller through it and get something going today. Of course, the winter prep never ends with the chickens for me. I have to look at getting some straw to toss in the runs to keep the chickens busy scratching in the cold months.

Well, off I go, you folks have a wonderful day. I hope all you hunters aim true this weekend!
