Well I'm a very small hobbyist. I have one pair of mandarin ducks, one Pekin after his ladies got picked off by coyotes, 7 buff ducks, 15 assorted muscovies, 11 BLRW, and one random cross rooster I don't know what to do with ha!

Oh no... Its another duck person... lol

I really love the look of blue laced red Wyandottes. I would love a couple of those one day. So those of you have them keep me in mind if you plan to hatch any out.

Just counted out the weeks and my August chicks will be 20 wks Dec 21. Maybe I will get some pullet eggs around Christmas or New Years. Good way to start out the new year with new layers! Of course I know it may take longer due to light issues ect. But it is still fun to watch for them.

The ducks kind of happened by accident, I'll be down to just the scovies and dotties soon I hope. 2 things to concentrate on will be enough for me! I'm sure I'll have some dotties for sale in the spring. I can't keep many, but hope to hatch more than what I can keep

If I were to ever raise more ducks I would either raise Aylesbury or more Muscovys!

If I were to get ducks again, it would be the ones that don't splash all their water everywhere, who don't poop everywhere, who don't quack in the middle of the night for no other reason that to hear themselves quack, who don't lay their eggs in middle of mud puddles and ankle breaking holes they dug with their bills, ones who wouldn't dig ankle breaking holes in the first place, and ones that didn't eat me out of house and home just for a few measely eggs in the fall that I have to scrub mud and poop off with a scrub brush to eat. Other than those things, I don't mind ducks.
