Surviving Minnesota!

Well it seems I have become a morning person . I keep waking up early . I finished processing  the deer I got last week . Still have a antler less tag . Only been doing evening hunts . Just too busy . Not seeing anything  Lots of neighbors hunt . I think the herd has been thinned .

Morning!
I was hoping to get to processing my deer last night but it still sits in the fridge. My gravel came much later than expected. So I ended up working on other things yesterday. I intend to grind almost all of it except the straps. Do you have any good recipes for the loin? I was thinking about trying to smoke a piece of it to see how that foes

Not really . I do have a jerky marinade recipe I like . I sometimes do backstraps into jerky . Well I got to get out there .

Perhaps, that was a Sasquatch mating call? Since there are so few and they are so hard to find, I don't think anyone has caught a recording of them.
People who do not live with Sasquatches do not their mating rituals.

The mating call is delivered by the females not the males and it occurs after drinking a case of Buckhorn beer at the Junction Bar (hwy 65 and hwy 1) in Togo.

It is a little scary the first time you hear it, Next time I am there during mating season I will try to record it for you. It sounds a lot like Roseanne Barr signing the national anthem.

@memphis I saw it on TV, it was one ugly twisted mess, but huge.

I would like to see a Deer this hunting season. Husband and son went out this morning but before legal shooting hours a deer walks within 5 feet of stand but it was too dark to see doe/ buck.

Happy Veterans Day to any of you who did serve or are serving.

What she said to the veterans!

Bummer on the non-dead deer. There has not been many deer shot around here, High water levels and warm temps have the deer not going where the hunters go..

Good News, Your rooster did not try to attack me yesterday. I think he is afraid of me...Which is a good thing for him.

@ejb3810 The steroid shot failed, my knee hurts like a Sasquatch in love being rejected at the Togo Bar and grill...

I am making chicken wild rice soup out of one of roosters that I skinned a while back for deer camp tonight. I think they are up to 7 or 8 deer. Nothing but does a button buck and one little fork horn they got pushing woods last weekend. And washing eggs because I think I have a couple RSLs trying to lay twice a day and the second one is a soft shell and breaks on the rest. The days I work we don't collect until early evening and those are the days the eggs are full of dried egg insides.
