The idea of snow makes me want to vomit in my mouth a bit. I'm going to run my extension cords tonight and get material to wrap the runs tonight. Does anyone keep their clear plastic from year to year?

Just writing to say I am still alive. Layers, I read the article....this makes me furious!

Our homestead could use another month before Fridays snowpocolipis.thankfully, the chickens are in a shed with electricity. And ultra thankful husband added a few outlets to the coop part. Had a little run in with the rooster...first he attacked my daughter(wrong move roo- she is twice as feisty as she is nice). Same evening he tried to attack me, after defending his attack with my boot times 4, he got hung upside down and yelled at. Then he spent the next 20 minutes under my arm with a muzzle on. We are now on day 3 after his behavior modification and he runs from all humans.

I use my plastic year to year, but it's reinforced with something maybe nylon threads.

Just got home. Got shots after school today.

My Buckeye and Legbar pullets aren't laying. I think they are broken lol! I don't think they are too fat.... But the Buckeyes are in heavy molt still... I am still trying to make up an excuse for the Legbars.... It's a good thing they're pretty!

Isn't that a stinker! I have a few pullets molting too. I can't believe it. Those silly birds!

I need to get lights set up for egg production . Getting fewer eggs and DW always uses more this time of year .

I flipped the lights on today to see how many I need to replace, 7 of 9 are blown out, so I better get some new ones in if I want the girls to start doing their jobs. I still have some molting fools out there too.

But their new feathers are the darkest they have ever been and don't have that lighter shaft color

Noticed ya'll seem to be getting ready for snow. Its still weirdly warm here. Going to be over 80 today. I picked a few tomatoes yesterday. Something wrong with wearing shorts this time of year...even down here.

We may get close to the record high of 75 today . Then the temps are going to fall . Going to be a shock after this beautiful weather .
