Merry Christmas all. Today, we abandoned all Christmas travel when we found out they closed 94 for a brief period by St. Joe. My parents were very understanding. We enjoyed christmas movies, presents, a nap and searching for the drone my son thought he should fly outside today.

I have been contemplating becoming npip certified or at least certified to do the state required testing for our 4h. Can someone give me an idea how much of my already minimal time I will be investing? I know they are 2 separate credentials but if it is just as much time I might just as well become npip. Presently,we are not hatching eggs but eventually, we may try.

I can do all your testing. Then you just need the USDA or Poultry board inspection.. Or you can sign up for the class which is one day in March as I recall in St cloud the cost is only about 10 bucks.

It was a sad Christmas for me, my male rat Ryker had a stroke this afternoon and just passed away about an hour and a half ago. I was so excited to get my new fish tank set up only to have one of my best furry friends leave me.

Bummer. Condolences

Everything here has a nice layer of ice on it. My parents and sisters went home and my uncle is driving back to brainerd cuz he has to work in the morning... Roads are nasty from Wadena to Brainerd....

The wind has really picked up here. I just went out to lock the coop door and between the ice and wind I was not sure I would ever get back in..BUT I made it, thankfully..

I did not count turkeys so if there is one in the trees, I wish him luck....You could be down to two again tomorrow Holms.

Current weather here. We are also getting sleet right now along with a thunder blizzard. Just saw lightning also.
Everything is about an inch or more think with ice. Power is flickering.
We got most of our snow previous hours today.

It has been raining and ice pellets for hours now up north here. So even though it is now cold enough for snow it is more ice pellets than snow. Ick!

We have rain/ice pellets piling up outside too. I wish it was just a nice snow for Christmas. Honestly. The whole icy road thing, I just hate. Hopefully the temps will stay reasonable for the salt to work.
