You are butchering that particular bird because of the beak?

Since I do hatch out mutts for layers yes. I dont keep anything with bad feet, crooked toes, split wing or crooked beak. Luckily I have only ever culled two pullets for this and lots of cockerels.

She will never free range, and she will not "room" with any other chickens ever again. Except for the occasional visit to the rooster..

And as soon as she develops a 'problem" that lowers her appearance she will see what the oven looks like.

Went out to lock the chickens down and check for any late layed eggs. I know that my RIR that is in full molt likes to lay in the nesting box (must be warmer) and there she was - in the nb with the cellophane egg nice and hot from just being laid. So she is in full molt and laying still - only they are cellophane eggs. Didn't know that the molting hen laid anything.

So here's the Cochins. If you need better pictures of any parts of them I will get them tomorrow.
I'm looking for strong and weak points on them

Just turned 1 year old. Blue Frizzle
Strong Points: I like his frizzling and feel it is strong all the way through. I feel his color is also sufficient. Has the weight for the breed. He also has correct foot coloring and feathering on feet.
Weak Points: To large of waddles. Also has some crooked toes as an accident as a chick, can be fixed.

8 month old Blue Pullet
Strong Points: Good Cushion, decent coloring, good head shape, decent weight. Good breast. Overall I like her.

Weak Points: Comb has to many points

Strong Points: Heavy body, thick breast, correct feet color, good feet feathering. Good color. Had correct comb until an EE pecked it.
