Surviving Minnesota!

Our Basketball team had a "Jam the Gym" last night. We got over 1,000 people and beat Park Christian 77-43. lol it was a good night to be a Raider.

For those who where ordering june berries, I talked to my sister and she has the following varieties: Smokey, Northline, Theissen, Martin, Pembina, Lee-3 and Lee-8, though she isn't sure what she will have available for sale this spring. They won't be cheaper, she sells bareroot for $10.00 but they will more than likely be much bigger than what the catalog nursery would send. I think they usually send 8 to 12 inch plants and Judy usually sells ones that are 2 foot or more. She might have bigger ones than that even but they would cost more. She also has Evens cherries if anyone is interested in them, they sell for $5 to $15 bareroot depending on size.

Well the cold or flu is almost gone . So for those interested here is how short it can be . I noticed I was getting hoarse Thursday afternoon when I quit for the day . I figured the source of infection to Monday from my rabbit hunting partner . He supplied sandwiches and his wife had something . So I started meds on Friday and am pretty much cured today . Sore throat is healing and some mucus chucks still coming up . I took about 16 doses total . Headache is gone .

Ralpie did you have trouble getting used to the lumber scale on your sawmill . I still struggle with mine . 8 colums of numbers . 4 on the one calibrated to the cross bunks for zero from bed and 3 on the moveable scale that can be zeroed to the top of the cant . None seem to do what I want . Guess I need to change my wants . There is a 2 inch , 3/4 inch ,1 inch and a 9/8 . These allow 1/8 for the blade . I would really like to do 7/8 to allow for planeing to 3/4 when dry . Why waste another 1/8 when the cut is not that rough . Maybe shrinkage during drying . Not much info out there . The 2 inch not that critical to me . The finish 3 1/2 size is on 2 x 4 is to me . Need to match to store bought just in case . I think different drying or shrinkage will require planeing on one side for uniform thickness .

Where is she . I am interested in Evans also . When do they arrive for her . Need to figure timing . I will be up in early May . Maybe she can hold them in cold storage until then on barefoot . The mail order places do until shipped .

I have a magnetic ruler on mine. I do not really use a calculator.

I make my first cut then I realign the ruler to the blade and cut at either 5/4ths or 1 inch depending on what I am doing.

Did that make sense?

And my last hatch is a week old today!

Ralphie those Toads are quickly putting the CX to shame! They just look so much nicer than the CX at that age

The absolute darling innocence of those faces. LOL. What's the middle one Ralphie? a Striper of some sort? Cucko Marans or Dom? OMG....Love them.

My Influenza Strategy is a Mexican Z-pack (azithromycin) brought back from my Mission Texas In laws last spring. I'm frugle and so is my family about how we use them. But I had to pull out the big guns. Will be trying the Other method if I should need, next time. Thank you for the info Jerry. Mine started Thursday too, I think. Started Zpak on Friday as soon as I felt it in my chest and comparing some stories from DH's co-workers who went to clinic and got Zpaks. I was death warmed over on Saturday and Sunday. Then Sunday night the tightness in my chest released and boom we're about done.
