Going through old pictures last night, I sure will miss this mare. Very few horses could be fine with having a 4 wheeler this close for the first time in their life. Hopefully this year we don't have to have neighbors bring their 4 wheelers though, the horses work better anyways.

One more Leghorn died I'm assuming that their so inbred that the chicks have poor immune systems. I might set some Cochin eggs this week, as long as I can get the black cockerel to breed April.
The blue pullet I just got should start laying soon as the cockerel bred her this morning. I think the drizzle is going to nature slower which is fine with me.
So far I have 1 person who might be interested in the 2 year old hens.

Good Morning Chickeners . . . .

And a SPECIAL good morning to you Holm!!!

When I jump on the 'puter' late the news comes back before I am done reading. So congratulations. Now you still get to see your friends as your mother's threat worked.

Bogtown ! 15 YEARS! Man it goes fast! Misty Watered Colored Memories. Happy Birthday at your house and have a blast.

I have not bothered to check the weather forecast for today. It seems to be overcast and then it brightens up. Letting the flock out daily now. They love it of course. I am trying a PVC feeder. Got it together on Sunday, filled it up and the hens stand in front of it and swish their head to the left and then to the right and there is food flying all over the place. I am thinking "Well, this works real well" and I go through twice the amount of food I usually go through in one day. They ate off the floor yesterday until I went back to HD and bought another piece of PVC to fit inside of the part they eat from. We will see if this works. Ugh!

Now I AM GOING TO LEARN TO square, level and nail an insulated roost area tucked under the shed portion of the covered run. I will insulate the tin ceiling which also had to be done in the run so I know what I am doing there. Then I will take off the peaked roof from the original kit (I put together) and flatten out that roof line to sit as the floor of this roost area. It will be 3 x 5 with two roosts. A poop board or sling to catch the stuff. I have purchased a radiant heat panel to hang in this roost area mounted from the ceiling for those cold winter nights. I am pulling apart the little kit coop which is where they nest. I am going to insulate it and cover the insulation with something, put it back together and then I will

love the flock house and run. I want to have clear plastic panels to mount on the inside of the run where the sun shines most of the afternoon during the winter and the same on the front of their dust bath location. The rest gets wrapped in plastic. Thanks for letting me write it out.

Ready for the warm weather to be consistent. We will sit in the warm run, drink mojitos, hot brandies, egg nogs, BIG gingers, Mikes and pretend we are in a warm climate.
