If this is spring why are my temps going to be below zero tonight....That is a winter temp!

Spring is still few days away. March 20th you can complain of non Spring temps.

I have considered a watermark too Holmes. BYC by their TOS gets to use our photos but I find people then feel the need to take 'BYC's' photos. I don't claim to making any living with my photos but I find it's good form to at least ask for use or give photo credits at the very least.

So anyways holm if you figure out watermarking let me know. @EMorical might be able to offer tips.

So. Basically people will and can steal anything they feel like...even tho BY LAW, the person who took the photo owns the photo. (Varies from state to state, but overall, basically all rights are retained by original photographer. Totally didn't read the Terms/Cond of BYC when I joined whoops!!!!) But with an effective watermark you can still post and have credit!

Holm - I like your watermark but it's pretty easy to steal and crop - see below. It took me about 2 seconds

I think that BC's watermark was more effective for what you are wanting to accomplish! It's subtle (faded opacity) and in a spot that is harder to totally crop out w/out cutting out some of the important parts of the photo.

When I do a watermark I make sure to make it subtle enough that it doesn't detract too much from the photo/message (but make it just noticeable enough that if a client were to make it their profile pic or share it on social media that I still get FREEEEEE advertising) and put it in a spot that is hard to crop out.





Here's a quick sample of what "I think" would be a good example on your photo:




You can move it up/down so it doesn't totally cover the egg if you wish - but people would have a hard time removing this to use for their own use!!!!

How do you create your Watermark Emorical? Is it always opening up another program and 'creating' the mark over and over again. What's your process? I used SnapSeed on the mock up of a watermark I tried. IDK...not enough experience with layering techniques is my issue. LOL. Plus I'm sure an adobe photoshop class or what have you would be a good idea.

I use photoshop - there are many many many many mannnnnnnnny (hint - lots) of ways to do watermarks. Just 'Youtube' to see. BUT. Since I am mostly watermarking personal images these days and I don't need a consistent brand look (same size/same spot/something very recognizable and the same) for clients..... I just use a type or text tool.... type what I want where I want....adjust opacity....maybe add a shadow...and boom. Save and done. So, yes, opening up another program, creating the mark, and saving is my process. But since 99% of my photos are from my real camera vs phone camera it needs to be opened up on my computer anyway........so......it's pretty easy for me. But if you are taking phone pics and want to watermark....

Ask the young'uns about apps!!!

BUT ALWAYS save as a new photo. Don't over ride your "original"

Lessons learned best thru others hehe.

I'm not sure what some of the apps are that help with this. I am pretty smart phone dumb when it comes down to that stuff.
