Surviving Minnesota!

I moved the broody bantam hen in hopes she will quit . Windy today so indoor stuff . I did not build anything yesterday . Helped DW clean . Moved the refrigerator out for her . Took down some curtains for washing . Today is sibling Tuesday for her . So I will be unsupervised for half of the day . I moved some inch lumber into the basement to dry . It is mostly 12 percent moisture now from dead trees . Still more out there . Maybe I will build something today .

AMEN! I can see it if a person's main interest is in showing birds. Then building an indoor coop for the winter months or move to southern climes. But, like me, I want eggs from the hens and protection from my roosters so the hens can free-range. Poor Reggie is standing, alone, by the side of the garage right now. No doubt some hens will join him in a while as it is the sunniest morning spot in the yard. I think he is trying to avoid a new adversary. Otherwise it is going well enough with incorporation of a new bird.

Wow Jerry, a day unsupervised, Any idea what cool tool or machine will magically arrive by the nice UPS man on Thursday?

President  or King?

Both. My title will be King President.

I hsve decided to get the birds. They will add a good income through chicks and eggs. I can not get them until thr 25 or 26 though. The chicks eat a lot and I'm glad we made the new feeder so They don't waste half of it!

Forgot to look at origin before I bought but then they make everything now . Looking at buying somethings but not yet . Should be selling some walnut vanere logs this week . So I may do some buying . I really need some things for logging . I think I will buy close to my trip and have delivered to the lake .

Speaking of deliveries, my coffee that I did not get last month came yesterday. I have been drinking terrible coffee because Amazon was out of it and never delivered it last month. Yesterday I got 2 cases of coffee. I am guessing last months and this months.....

Hey chickeners! I found a good reason for this last hurrah of cold weather . . . . sewing! Get er done! Because the garden is coming up and there isn't alot of time to sew when it becomes warm outside. Which is will be by the end of this week. Yea! for warm weather and yea for sewing.

I am glad I'm not the only one who fell victim to Amazon's subscribe and save problem...I am sitting on 2 cases of Toilet Paper.

Why are Rhode Island Red chicks (baby roos) so dog gone inquisitive? We have had 2 jump to the lower level....3 foot drop. Slowly open the door of the coffin (reflective lined cage) and out they jump. No cares in the world.

Jerry....quit rubbing it in about your seeds and yadada.....some of us woke up to -7. (Just Kidding)....I am chomping at the bit to put my garden in this year. Last yeat was the first year in 30 years that I was without a garden.....and I kinda missed it. This year we will be "gardening" with my father inlaw. I need to have a certain type of Sweet Corn on our land because it can not cross pollinate with his type of sweet corn. Then, I need to dig a seperate plot in our back yard for white popcorn and he will be digging a plot for yellow popcorn. You may commence eye rolling at any time. Dont get me wrong he is a great guy.....but he is semi retired so he has all the time in the world. So dreams up these big plans.....

Oh yeah. Retired people! All the time in the world. Any working or have worked people on here ever take their car in for repair. Drop it off and they take you to work and drop you off. 7:00 a.m. so you can make it to work in time. BUT . . . . no . . . . there are those retirees in front of you that could wait until everyone has dropped off because they still work and have a schedule. BUT the retirees go to bed at 7:30 so they are up at 4:00 waiting for the garage doors to open. RETIRED people - STAY HOME until after rush hour so that those that HAVE to be in rush hour can get where they must go by a certain time. They do not need to be driving around YOU on the freeway.

Oh! Wait . . . . I am retired. Oh! but then I do follow my own advise.
