Surviving Minnesota!

Holms, the calves all look very good quality. I am not that fond of black, but the calf in the top photo looks outstanding.

ILL, that is a nice photo of you. You should have it blown up and framed. When you are old you can show it to your grandchildren and tell them that you were young once also .

Layers just know they won't believe you...:old

Still Morels out there, I got a whole 3...

Ok I am back from my weekend fishing trip . Good time with my adult grandson . Ralphie that Legbar mix could be about any combination . Likely 2 copies of recessive white and possibly 1 of dominant white . Only test breeding would reveal the truth . Since I see no hint of color it is not one copy of dominant white nor is it 1 copy of each .

thanks..I figured it was not as easy as she made it seem. With legbars having so many colors and barring at play, I can never figure out their genes very well.

I have a crested PC chick or did have when I last took inventory. I think it is 1/4 legbar. 1/4 PC and 1/2 EE which means Heinz 57.

Ralphie of you have any EEs to get rid of let me know! After that coon I am down about 9 birds and I culled 5 old hens the other day so I am in need of some young stock!

Holm I love calving season just as much as chicks. It's just all the new babies that get me going. Mommas and babies always a great sight. On this end we have some really good starts to the fruit crops. Apple's, apricots and strawberries all set. Planted garlic and shallots between sprinkles. And have most of the church garden in.. now I have to do my own ..

@lilmynx13 Those fruit trees and strawberries already look amazing. And Nice short trimmed grass there....

The John Deere is still not back from our fixit guy. With all this rain I have a hayfield again. I do not want to push the real push mower again. A workout like that is good for a year don't you think? I need to just relax as I can't mow today with the rain anyways. Chill BC.. Chill...

ILL I love the photo of you jumping over that pole. Looks like you had room to spare on that jump. That is one to definitely print off and scrapbook for the grandkids as Ed has suggested.

The chicks are getting larger and the brooder seems smaller. Got their attention last night with a small dollop of greek yogurt. Who's yo' Momma...chickas....?! heh, heh, heh...
