Surviving Minnesota!

I'm not into hanging pictures up but i think that will get hung.
Fencing for the last 2 days, we have everything fixed and put up 2 steel braces this after noon. We have one railroad tie and 2 gates to put in down by a draw but that's tomorrow. After that we should be done with the big stuff for the year. Surprisingly we had very little fence down because of snow, the worst we had was a 50 foot stretch where ir was broke once in every wire. Hopefully after fencing is done I can do more chicken stuff like finally hatching some rare breed eggs.

And my Cochin cockerel is finally consistently breeding the pullets and hen! I'm not sure if I am goin to set eggs so they hatch before end of June, before end of July or after end of July. I think i might wait until I have rare breed eggs to set too so I can get a bunch of chicks at once and be done for the year

I think it's harder for people to navigate this new format. It even takes me a bit to get to Surviving. Anybody seen their pictures or galleries come back?

I had some good reference photos in there.

Holm I kind of wondered if we were passing your house or your grandpas pasture and farm.

DS did not place individuallly but his team took 4th out of 13 so they all go back tomorrow. DH and I need to get back to work though, the jobs are amissin' us . Busy time of year in our town.

So Ed cuddles kittens too?
I'm in bed already. 5:00 today, 5:00 tomorrow... yikes. I don't do Am's being a night owl and all. Oh crap.. better do coop door.

Fed chicks scrambled egg and mealies. Those little nut jobs in the brooder are starting to think the 'hand isn't so bad...?

I put two chicks out yesterday in the hospital coop. GLW. Today I removed the cardboard blocking the exit/entrance and they ventured outside in their little run. The big hens came over to find out what the heck . . . . They were giving them a good look - see. Gorgeous day! And Ralphie, we have definitely come up in the area on County Road 5. There is curb and gutter going in across the street (highway) from us. Maybe they will slow the road down too. That would be nice! Nice new walking/riding paths laid yesterday - just across the highway from me. I love to walk. Come to think of it I love to ride too. Lucky me!

One more comment. That Easter Egger Roo, Copper, that I got from you Ralphie is a true gentleman. He takes such good care of the hens. When I talk to him and say his name he cocks his head at me. Many of my chickens I can call by name and they come to me. I don't touch them but I do talk to them. What say you chickeners? Tell me about your chickens.

Poor Coffee.

That's adorable. Happen to have any new pics of him? He's so handsome.

When my uncle lived down by Fountain, MN he actually did have a rattlesnake in a hay bale. But I think Ralphie's in entirely the wrong end of the state for him to have them.

OH NO I HAVE HUGE RATTLESNAKES, MEAN DOGS AND SMALL POX IS EVERYWHERE HERE..

I advise no one bring a dux here, it is not worth the risk...
