Surviving Minnesota!

Good morning peeples
More gardening today, I have sun burn from yesterday but I need to finish planting.
I threw out my straw hat last year because it was stating to fall apart and I haven't replaced it yet now I wish I still had it, raggedy or not. Burned ears are the worst!
Good luck Ralphie.

Thanks..

I have been wearing my old straw hat it has a hole in the brim and I have a burn on my neck...I hate breaking in a new hat. BUT I think I might have too.

I only wear it because of sun protection..otherwise I would never cover up this perfect head........

Sounds like folks have a good day ahead of them. (Minus going back to work at your paying jobs.) Being outside working gardens and chickens and whatever other animals can be so rewarding sometimes.
We are stringing electric wire today. Double line so the cow with the special escape gift might get a zap or two when attempting her exit. Should make for the last of fence work for the time being. I too got sunburned yesterday. I remembered last night that I should have worn my hat. Oh yeah, put my hat on! So I dug that out last night and put it right next to my work gloves. Remembering to grab it will be the hard part.

Have a nice day all!!

I need to add after all the bragging I did about Ed and how luvable he is,,,he turned into a grouchy jerk last night.

Judy and I were having Chicken TV time with the Toads. Ed was there naturally.

Included in this class of toads are the 2 SS and 2 Doms that hatched in January. The SS rooster is going to score around 99.5 points in shows this fall. The pullet will be slightly lower as she has too much white on her.... I am hoping for a miracle olt to turn her darker. BTW Warn the kids @MNChickMom no sprigs on either..so they should get use to a 2 or 3rd place finish..............:lau

Anyways Ed has taken to attacking the young cockerels. He drew blood on the toad cockerel and the SS cockerel is scared to death of Ed, So I know this has been going on for a while... I am thinking it started about the time I saw Ed molest one of the toad girls.

I may be moving Ed into a special room with some PC girls today. I am going to try to get some chicks from him. I got them last year late in the season from him. so I am hoping to get some this year late from him.

Weinerhead has a better body than Ed, but I still want to put more ED genes into a few PC chicks...

Besides I hate having him become a bully.. I might need EJB to come down here and talk to Ed maybe give him a kiss and hug to straighten him out.....:lau:lau

Sorry to inform you but we will not be bringing any SS to the fair this year. (They are just too young.) However, my daughter has been precisely raising her PC's....they get cool fresh water twice a day complete with waterer scrubbing, then they get ice cubes on warm days. Complete with chick start. They are looking good.....

Ralphie, I have to say that I am not surprised by Ed's demeanor. He was large and in charge while here. He was great with humans, but definitely the cock of the walk to say.
My PC hens are model citizens and the boy which you brought to me is very good all though a little on the timid side.

Funny Story: Driving back home last night from a grad party (I wasn't driving) and was thinking how I would get some Dutch Belted cows someday. Literally 3 seconds after my thought we drive by two of them!

NO NO NO NO.....

I want her to bring SS!!! I could be beaten on the PC's!!! NO NO....

She is spoiling them already....that's not fair, I don;t have time to spoil them now....

The one I brought you was timid here too.

Ed is not the head rooster here. but he is more of a solitary guy. He has always liked to be with chicks though. If I pick up a chick and it screams Ed comes running from wherever he is..

The other day I had an egg customer here as I was in getting eggs they said a crow landed near the chicks (toads) They were impressed because that "big dark" rooster chased after the crows..
